Integrating Physics, Optimizing Systems, Powering Indonesia’s Future
Welcome to ilmunuklir.id, the academic website of Alexander Agung.
I am a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada. My academic activities focus on nuclear reactor education, research, and development, particularly in reactor physics, thermal-hydraulics, reactor safety, advanced reactor systems, and nuclear fuel management.
This website serves as a platform for sharing educational resources, research activities, scientific publications, undergraduate thesis opportunities, and information on developments in nuclear science and technology.
Research Areas
My research interests include:
- reactor physics and neutron transport;
- reactor thermal-hydraulics and safety;
- modelling and simulation of nuclear systems;
- small modular reactors and advanced reactor concepts;
- fuel assembly and reactor core optimisation;
- in-core fuel management;
- uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis;
- scientific computing, machine learning, and surrogate modelling for nuclear engineering applications.
One of the main research activities currently being developed is Gama-Float, a light-water-cooled modular floating nuclear reactor concept used as a research platform for reactor design, neutron physics, thermal-hydraulics, safety analysis, and optimisation.
Undergraduate Thesis Opportunities
Students interested in nuclear reactor engineering are welcome to participate in ongoing research through undergraduate thesis projects. Through these projects, students will gain experience in developing computational models, operating reactor analysis codes, processing simulation results, verifying numerical models, and preparing scientific reports.
Explore the available undergraduate thesis topics.
Education and Learning Resources
This website also provides educational materials and discussions on many interesting topics in nuclear engineering. These resources are intended for students, academics, professionals, and members of the public who wish to develop a more systematic understanding of nuclear science and technology.
Academic Profile
I received my bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, and my master’s degree in Energy Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. I subsequently earned my doctoral degree in Nuclear Engineering from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands.
After completing my doctoral studies, I joined Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, as a postdoctoral research scientist.
I am currently an associate professor at the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada. I also coordinate the Nuclear Energy and Renewable Energy Research Group as well as the Head of Nuclear Energy Technology Laboratory.
My teaching and research activities are centred on nuclear reactor engineering, computational modelling, reactor safety, and the development of advanced nuclear energy systems.
Academic and Research Profiles
My publications and academic record are available through:
Collaboration
I welcome opportunities for collaboration in education, research, curriculum development, professional training, and the modelling and analysis of nuclear systems.
Potential collaborations may involve universities, research organisations, regulatory bodies, industry, hospitals, and international institutions.
Areas of potential collaboration include:
- nuclear reactor design and safety;
- reactor physics and thermal-hydraulics;
- small modular reactors;
- nuclear education and curriculum development;
- uncertainty and sensitivity analysis;
- computational methods and artificial intelligence;
- joint research, student supervision, and academic exchange.

alhamdulillah…makin super aja nih pa Alex. ditunggu postingan2nya ya.
